Success for HFI at Global Petroleum Show in Calgary
Rainmaker and HFI enjoy making new business contacts
Together with HFI's Canadian partner, Rainmaker Global Business Development of Calgary, HFI enjoyed success at Canada's Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2010 in early June.
'This superb international energy event in Calgary gave us three days of world-class exhibitions and events,' says Hugh Fraser. 'Canada is internationally recognised as offering some of the most advanced technology and know-how in the world for the energy industry, and there is a growing awareness that there is a strong "supply and demand" opportunity for Canadian companies to play an increasing role in the MENA energy sector.'
Tens of thousands of attendees and exhibitors networked and engaged in business discussions during what is billed as the world’s premier oil and gas show. Visitors from over 100 countries converged on Calgary to share ideas and innovations and to participate in educational sessions and conference events.
Clark Grue of Rainmaker said, 'GPS is for the onshore industry what OTC is for the offshore industry. We consider this event to be hosting the world's leading onshore industry technological advancements in one place at one time – so it's an excellent opportunity to do business and meet people.'
Hugh Fraser agrees:
'Canada’s energy sector is internationally recognised as a strong base of advanced energy know-how and technology', he says. 'This comes from decades of development of the western Canadian onshore oil and gas industry centred in Alberta, its transcontinental pipeline systems and, more recently, its offshore oil and gas sector centred on Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.'
Canadian companies are recognised as being international leaders in a number of specialist sectors, including heavy oil, unconventional gas, advanced drilling techniques like underbalanced drilling, enhanced oil recovery, mature reservoirs and production optimisation, and artificial lift, amongst many others.
'HFI has from its early days been strongly supportive of the internationalisation of the Canadian energy sector to the Middle East and North African (MENA) region,' says Hugh Fraser. 'With our origins in the North Sea oil and gas industry and being focused exclusively on the energy sector in the MENA region our specialist team of legal and business consultants understands both the industry and the region.
'Our clients develop a real competitive edge through exposure to our knowledge, experience and contacts - and HFI's solutions-orientated approach.'
